The land of Oz is a magical place. The “land” of digital marketing, too. However, both remain relatively unknown to many of us.
Those are places that make us leave the comfort zone and encourage us to take a step towards adventure. Once we enter the digital marketing “land”, we’re definitely no longer in Kansas.
That’s why I decided to create this blog.
My goal is to accompany you through this particular “land”.
To meet this goal, I write about topics related to digital marketing. I do it in a straightforward, creative, and easy-to-understand way.
Nevertheless, my mission isn’t to help you return home as soon as possible. Writing-Friendly Blog exists to make it easier for you to understand how to get around the online marketing “land”.
My mission is to help you say “YES” to the adventure.

The movie “The Wizard of Oz” begins with the monotonous life of the protagonist, Dorothy. Her life is a black-and-white story.
However, the plot arises at the moment when a tornado hits the place where Dorothy lives, Kansas. Namely, the tornado takes her dog, Toto, and her to the magical land of Oz.
The story of “The Wizard of Oz” served to me as an inspiration to create “The Marketing of Oz”.
By the Marketing of Oz, I mean all the types of marketing that make potential customers or clients cross the imaginary (or not so imaginary) bridge from a “NO” to a “YES”.
In short, the Marketing of Oz is marketing that delivers results.
The first similarity is the idea that we all have the power to change things. After the search for the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy realised that all she needed to do to return home was to tap her ruby sleepers three times. In your case, once you find content marketing, you will undoubtedly realise that your business needs eye-catching and easy-to-read content to attract your potential customers.
Another similarity is that adventure brings change. When Dorothy said “YES” to the adventure, the movie turned from a black-and-white story to a story in colour. On the other hand, when I said “YES” to this digital marketing adventure, my professional story turned from grey to yellow.
On the other hand, there are several differences between the story of the Wizard of Oz and the Writing-Friendly Blog, dedicated to the Marketing of Oz.
In the story of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy is the protagonist. On this blog, you are the protagonist.
The story of The Wizard of Oz emphasises the importance of the search. When it comes to this blog, I emphasise the importance of finding and achieving results.
As the story of The Wizard of Oz unfolds, friendships are formed. On the Writing-Friendly Blog, I’m looking for collaboration. However, I also hope for friendships.
In the end, Dorothy is driven by a desire to return. On the other hand, I hope you’re driven by a desire to stay in the land of content marketing.
“It’s not WHERE you go. It’s WHO you meet along the way.”
Why is this blog called “writing-friendly”?
I’m not the only one to accompany you on this journey.
Three characters from the Marketing of Oz will do it, too.
The Scarecrow accompanies Dorothy during the search for the Wizard of Oz. Scarecrow needs the wizard to give him the brain.
The Cowardly Lion is her second companion during the search. Although he’s the king of animals, the Lion lacks courage.
Dorothy’s last companion is the Tin Man. At the end of the movie, he manages to ask the Wizard of Oz for a heart.
These three characters represent the main categories of the posts:
content writing, copywriting, and UX writing.
Content writing – To run an excellent content marketing, it’s essential to use the brain the Scarecrow desperately needs. In other words, you should define your content strategy, establish an editorial calendar, and measure the results. In the posts that belong to the category of content writing, I write about these topics.
Copywriting – If you lack courage, how can you attract clients who are willing to cross the bridge from a NO to a YES? Businesses should be the first ones to dare to rely on creativity, value originality, and invest in persuasion.
UX writing – The topic of the posts belonging to this category is the enhancement of the user experience by crafting UX copy. In other words, there are no tin-made users in the digital marketing “land”. Those who speak to us as if we are heartless, make a mistake. The users deserve empathy because they have the heart.
Since the three categories contain the word “writing” in their names,
this blog is called “writing-friendly”.

Who am I?
My name is Stasa Durdic. I’m a content writer, copywriter, and UX writer. I’m also the author of the majority of posts published on Writing-Friendly Blog. In the end, I’m a survivor of two quite particular “tornadoes”.
The first tornado took me from Serbia to Spain in 2010. The second one, from web journalism to the digital marketing field.
Both tornadoes were vital for me because they made me:
- Discover the storytelling – Toto accompanied Dorothy through the land of Oz. Marketing stories accompany me through the “land” of digital marketing.
- Learn the branding – Glinda, the good fairy of the East, helped Dorothy so that her adventure could end with a happy ending. In my case, it’s branding that’s helping me.
And you know what? I liked life over the rainbow so much that I don’t have any intention of returning to Kansas. Writing-Friendly Blog is my new home.
Dorothy’s story is the journey from a black-and-white life to a life in colour.
My story is the journey from grey to yellow.
